our mission
Welcome to James River Retrievers. Our number one goal is to provide exceptional gun dogs in the field and also great companions for the home. Our dogs have been and continue to be successful in hunt tests and in the hunting blind. Our dogs are all health tested to ensure you are getting the best possible hunting partner. Our mission is to provide healthy puppies to anyone looking for their next hunting buddy. We have made it our objective to select the most outstanding bloodlines the UK has to offer and it’s our responsibility to make sure all of our dogs are health and temperament tested to better the dog and the breed.

STUD DOG, LABRADORE
“Taco embodies everything we think of when we envision a British Labrador. Extremely birdy and exceptionally biddable. He is everything you can ask for in the blind and in the home. ”
Client Testimonial
Shane has been Fantastic to work with. Shane and his wife have not only gone out of there way of accommodating me with up to date photos and videos of my Labradors training and progress but also has given sound advice to my labs next step in training. With Shane’s training techniques he has used since day 1 I couldn’t be more happier on where my dog is headed. Very nice and clean kennel accommodations but also treats your dog as one of theirs.Class act and highly recommended.
